We Are Open Every Saturday, May to November 2021

Hello and welcome! We are currently in the planning phase for this upcoming market season. We will open on Saturday, May 1st and will continue through October 30th before changing to our winter market format (details TBD). Our operating hours will stay the same… 9am-12:30pm. We will still require all customers, vendors and volunteers to wear masks at all times while in the market space and to encourage social distancing… hopefully these COVID policies can “go by the wayside” as soon as possible.

We will be OPEN this Saturday, July 31st. Get ready for a fun, great day!!!.

We are only REQUIRING MASKS for UNVACCINATED patrons per the CDCs and Governor DeWine’s newest guidance, since we are considered a “crowded, outdoor event.” This means if you are fully vaccinated, then you no longer need to wear a mask. Thank you for your cooperation and patience in keeping our vendors safe throughout all of this time.

What’s in season for this weekend?

There are many returning Southwest Ohio farmers and food artisans and many new ones.

Fresh, sweet peaches! Got lots of them, Soooo delicious!!!

These peaches are from Salatin’s Orchard!

Summer produce abounds! Try one (or more!) of the many varieties of sweet, juicy tomatoes! Their taste will blow you away since they are so superior to what you can typically get in the grocery store. Also, grab some crisp green beans from White Oak Valley Farm (also known as “the summer squash pizza crust people”)! Green bean casserole does not only have to be for Thanksgiving.

The Band

Last Saturday was great with the Jamgrass Duo here to entertain us as we shopped.

But for the last day in July, we will have a unique Vocalist/guitarist

Jim Kelly, a veteran of the local Greater Cincinnati music scene for decades, has put together a solo act that not only provides great music for the background if needed, but also to get your establishment jumping and rocking. Kelly, who also is the Radio Color Analyst for the University of Cincinnati Football Bearcats, had played in bands since his wide receiver days at UC in the mid 1970’s. As lead guitarist, and vocalist for over 30 years for Ooh La La and the Greasers, Kelly also performed in several different duos and trios. His knowledge and ability to be able to play and sing over 500 songs, means that whoever is in your crowd can have their musical requests met.

Food Truck

Last Saturday was a rare treat. Marty’s Waffles food truck was hard to resist.

This Saturday, at the Montgomery Farmers Market, LeCreParis is spreading the word of the crêpe by dishing out delicious takes from their food truck.

As always, we are open every Saturday from May through October, 9am-12:30pm. We are located in the Montgomery Elementary School parking lot at 9609 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, OH 45242. Come join in the fun!

Vendor Highlight: Yum Yum Petz

Yum Yum Petz

Yum Yum Petz all started with Taylor and her shih tzu, Pookie. At the young age of 2, Pookie was diagnosed with glaucoma. This little pup loved table scraps and it didn’t take long for Taylor to notice that the overly seasoned table foods were aggravating Pookie’s eyesight. Not wanting to give up on table scraps entirely, Taylor hopped into the kitchen to see if she could whip up something that she could give her dog at meal times.

Taylor’s coworkers started to take notice of her creations, as did her family, and before long she became inspired to expand and even won a place at Traders World.

All of her pet food treats have 2-3 ingredients and use gluten-free oat flour. Her current flavors are apple-carrot, pumpkin, peanut butter, tuna, salmon and chicken. You can pre-order any of her flavors (and even a “pupcake”) by visiting her website or sending her a message via Facebook or Instagram. Sometimes she sells out quickly, and it breaks her heart when she doesn’t have a flavor that her customers want, so she encourages pre-orders.

Try Yum Yum Petz for your 4-footed best friend!

Dual use music tent with a view of the band.

Thanks to the generous donation of a patron, we now have a music tent that can be used as a meeting and eating place for customers of the market (when it is not being used by the band).

Montgomery Farmers Market Bags

Reusable Market Bags Available With Your Favorite Vendors!

The Market is beginning a new environmental effort this week to reduce the use of plastic bags, and we need your help.

Here’s how it works. When you buy something from a vendor who usually puts your purchase in a plastic handle bag, they will offer you a FREE colorful market bag. We hope you will use it instead, and bring it back each week when you come to the Market.

MFM is joining with other markets in our region, and with CORV, to reduce the use of plastic, which has become a world-wide environmental problem. We received a grant from Hamilton County Recycling and Solid Waste District for 80% of the cost of the bags. MFM is paying the rest, so there is no cost to you or your favorite vendors.

There are so many wonderful options at the market during this time of the year. Sometimes it makes it difficult to make a choice!

Lots of options to choose among… give them a try on Saturday!
