The Montgomery Farmers Market accepts the following type of nutrition programs:
- SNAP EBT and its matching Produce Perks Program
- Produce PRX
- Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP)
- WIC FMNP
When you shop using your nutrition program benefits, you will stop at the Green Market Booth first to receive “alternative” currency. NOTE: Some of our farmers do accept SFMNP benefits directly, and you can verify by clicking here and searching by vendor name or county.
At the Montgomery Farmers Market, the alternative currencies are paper coupons and plastic tokens that stand in for benefit dollars you redeem. You can spend the alternative currency with participating vendors for eligible goods! Please see our document here for download, so you can see what the alternative currency looks like for each nutrition program at our Market.
Whether you are shopping with your SNAP EBT card or your SFMNP Homegrown app, please see the graphic below for reference on the steps to redeem your benefits for alternative currency. The graphic is provided by the Ohio Farmers Market Network.

A friendly reminder, once you redeem your benefits for our Market’s alternative currency, most of the alternative currency can only be spent with vendors at Montgomery Farmers Market. The only alternative currency that can be spent at other participating farmers markets is the green Produce Perks tokens. The listing of participating farmers markets who accept Produce Perks tokens can be found by clicking here.
